Introduction + Starting Over
Introducing myself the right way and revamping my content for the better.
Hi!
I created this post because I have never introduced myself and previously just jumped right into posting. Although I’m not new to Substack and know my way around the platform, I have never gone into depth about who I am, what I do, and why I’m here. I scraped my previous posts because I wanted to go in a different direction instead of simply discussing writing (which is a common topic).
So here it goes:
I’m a professional freelance writer with five years of experience in the writing industry. I started as a blogger writing on Blogspot and then Medium. Yeah, I go way back as a writer, but I never truly aspired to go far in the industry or planned to level up.
🔁Re-starting My Substack Journey
After going on hiatus, I reconsidered my approach. I wouldn’t say my previous entrance and goals were unrealistic, but I was doing too much at the time I had started posting on Substack. I have a habit of trying to divide my time and content on too many writing platforms at once, which I could never truly accomplish without help.
🤷Why Now After Being on Substack for Several Months?
I wasn’t satisfied with my content execution. Also, I felt needed to be more relatable instead of producing information that could be found on the internet easily.
After several months, I realized that I wasn’t taking full advantage of the platform. I’m also inspired by how well-organized and established some of the most visible users are on Substack.
While I can’t stand making promises, I figured I would provide a short list that details how I plan to make the most of my time here:
✅Take advantage of Notes by posting regularly and improving my engagement.
✅Promote my Substack to drive social media followers.
✅Get serious about content production and dedicate myself to growing on Subtack.
✅Convert casual readers into paid subscribers who can’t get enough of my content.
✅Contribute resourceful, but also insightful content that isn’t regurgitated all over the internet.
I know how challenging it is to be different as a writer. Standing out can also be stressful, especially since there are so many other people trying to do the same. But I realize I shouldn’t obsess over that. I should just write and allow my growth to take its course.
Here’s to my second go-round on Substack! And this time I’ll make sure this experience will be way better than the first.
